The great weather this week allowed us an opportunity to make progress on our project at #9 tee. A little info on the project. During the summer, during heavy rain events, we began to notice varying size sink holes beginning to form on top of a culvert that ran in front of the red tee on #9. It was decided, by the Greens Committee, to remove the pipe and create an open creek tying into an existing one that runs toward the 8th hole. We were hoping to only remove the broken pipe to the cart path. But, once we make it to that point it was obvious that we needed to remove the remaining pipe which meant we needed to dig up the cart path. Now we have added a new 20' section pipe under the cart path and we'll built two new head walls on either size of the pipe. Until spring the crossing on the cart path will remain gravel.
With any project, sometimes the job can get a little more involved than planned.
