The cart path project has hit a watery snag. Last week, the contractor began to notice that the gravel base layer was not firming up well due to the excessively high water table under certain portions of the cart paths. It was decided to let the gravel settle and firm up prior to the final coat of asphalt, a better product in the end. However, on Sunday afternoon the course received a biblical downpour of 2" in about an hour. The vast majority of the gravel washed away littering fairways and rough. Yesterday we cleaned up the mess. Fingers crossed, we are now scheduled to pave the cart paths early next week.
