One of our bigger focuses right now is interseeding fescue seed into areas of the rough and bunker faces that sustained turf loss this summer. It is a tendency for these areas to suffer in the summer. The main reason we experience turf loss in these areas is because of disease. This summer we saw turf loss was also due to excessive moisture and certain areas sitting in water for extended periods of time. 25% of the game is played within 25' of the green. Moving forward we will be treating these areas with fungicides, starting next spring, in an effort to greatly reduce the chances of turf loss and increase playability.
