A bit of everything

I don't remember where I snagged this photo from, but I feel it is appropriate considering the  tree removal our staff is doing this winter.  No direct comment here...

Our staff took this week off from tree removal to focus on a few lingering projects.  Being that the Club is in Henderson Country, the states leader in apple production, it is only fitting that we prune and maintain our own apple orchard.

Our dump reached its capacity due to the large volume of tree debris coming off the golf course.  We hired a local grading company to bring their tub grinder, The Hog, to clean up the mess.  The byproduct is a mountain of mulch we'll be able to use on the course.

"The canal" connecting the creek running along side of 14 fairway to the lake was cleaned out.  It's unbelievable how much sediment built up over the last two years.  It is important to remove this material before it reaches the lake, reducing its overall volume.

Finally, we took time to celebrate the birthday of our favorite Green Committee Chairman and member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Sparks!  Thanks for all you do supporting our department!
